And the preview showing a possible application. The downloadable file is just the shape, it doesn't include textures, which come from CG Textures [link]

No :)
"Liberty" refers to Art Nouveau, and is characterized by curly floral swirls and wild, lively design. Especially in painting it takes inspiration from japanese art. It was popular during the end of the XIX century. [link]

Art Deco comes after, and it's an abrupt shift of paradigm, the complete opposite of Nouveau. Its main characteristics are a love for rigorous geometry, linear symmetry and abstract shapes, taking inspiration from ancient classical, aztec and even egyptian motifs. It was most popular in the first half of the XX century. [link]

kinda looks like an abstract prince-albert for Captain Marvel.
I think that's a compliment.

I think I'd recommend that you take a Rorschach test.

I've always liked art deco. Don't see too much of the aesthetic anymore... wonder if we'll ever have a decopunk like we've got steampunk.

Kudos! :)

It's reminiscent of the ventilation systems in the game Bioshock, which is set in an art/deco submerged city.

Bioshock was such a boring repetitive game, but the aesthetics... holy shit, they were soooooo amazing!

Yeah, more than anything the art direction is what made the game. I loved the plasmid that you got that let you shoot bees out of your hand, these sores swell and burst and bees crawl out and around your hand and fly away. So fucking cool.

Yeah but it's sad that a game like that at the time was praised for its originality... when it's just another shooter with some extra elements. And the extra elements (the plasmids) are just other weapons. It's like... is that all the mainstream market can offer? Luckily Portal and Mass Effect prove that's not all there is in the mainstream. But I still prefer indie games. Always much more original. Take Dear Esther or Trauma (both on steam). Mindblowingly brilliant.

I've been play the heck out of a game called Mount and Blade: Warband by some Swedish company. It's pretty excellent, graphically not particularly impressive but it rocks out a feeling of breadth and depth of gameplay that I've not seen in a while. Build a mercenary band, conquer the world!

Yeah, but it's still about killing and destroying. Why is it so taken as granted that videogames are about destruction? I really don't get it.

not at all a knock against your work. I think it's completely excellent. Just couldn't resist the parallel.
