My favorite Watchmen character, I had to make a fanart sooner or later!
Did it a while ago, in fact. And yeah, movie version, I just love that costume! It screams 'art deco' in a syren song I couldn't ignore.
Adrian was the character I better could relate to in the story. Everyone loves Rorschach, but I only see a fascist, puritan madman. Adrian's only sin was that he accepted the burden of being able and willing to save the planet from nuclear annihilation. Let's talk about that now.

Hee hee, I always liked Adrian's blend of smugness and calm confidence. I can see it all over that face. Oh, and I agree that the costume in the movie is a bit more practical and cool-looking.

I completely agree with the fascination for Adrian. I still prefer Rorschach by the way.

Love with your fanart by the way!

The costume is cooler than the comic version, but it made it too obvious that he was the villian.

Everything you said regarding both Ozymandias and Rorschach... two thumbs up. And two more after that.
Good pic too.

I recommend the comic if you ever can get around to it. It synches up rather well with the movie. Main difference, framed alien invasion rather than Dr Manhattan being the big bad. A terrific last talk between Dr Manhattan and Ozymandias at the end. Cannot recall if that was in the movie or not.

Thanks for sharing the art!

I'm a bit of a night owl fan myself but greatly admire Adrian's savvy. " Do it? Dan, I'm not a republic serial villain. Do you seriously think i'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thrity-five minutes ago." He is also just that right mix of vile to go with his charm.

And he wins too! In the normal stories you can expect the villain to be genre savvy and still deliver the speech because the plan is failproof, but only in this story it really is. Usually there's a turn of events and the perceived big bad is somehow defeated. Not Adrian. That was a nice inversion of the trope.

He is a more competent Dr Doom without the ego.

Hmmm. Interesting point. I'm not tremendously familiar with Doom myself. Looks like it depends on the writer, but would you say that Doom has good intentions and just a very poor way of expressing them?

For the most part, he would be the biggest force for good if not for his petty rivalry with Reed Richards. He even saved Richard's child when Reed himself couldn't. Instead he delights in his own ego and theatrics.
