Wolf by TazioBettin Wolf by TazioBettin
Gah. Not having time for personal stuff sucks sometimes. It took days to do a picture that should take a couple hours, doing it in the spare time. But anyway, here's a random doodle I did recently inspired by the playbook 'the wolf' by Patrick H. Downs dedicated to the roleplaying game Apocalypse World. nerdwerds.blogspot.it/2013/04/…
What's Apocalypse World? Here docs.google.com/file/d/0B9cu0I…

It's great isn't it? I wish I could play it more. Who's the MC, you?

Cool! And tell me, what playbooks are in play? And do you know/use the additional ones? Like the Faceless or the Wolf.
And how is your Apocalypse? And what fronts are there?
Am I asking too many questions?

We're just using the basic rules. The fronts change almost every other session so it's hard to really tell.  There are cannibals though.  There hasn't been too much supernatural stuff yet.  It's hard to get players to open their brain to the maelstrom.

That's kinda strange. It's always useful and never poses a real danger. We always do it even with a low Weird value. Do your players all use low weird playbooks? Perhaps you might try and invite them into doing it more often.
Once my Brainer understood what the Apocalypse was about after having advanced the move and scored a 13 in her Weird roll.
(Brainers are cool. I really like them, although Savvyheads are even better).

Yeah they all have low wierd.  Also the gunlugger failed a roll miserably, started seeing all the people she'd killed in the past and then shot the hardholder with an armor-piercing revolver.  No one died, but they're kind of scared of it now.

Hm. Are they aware of the MC principles? I mean, you're mandatorily required to be each of heir characters' fan. That means making their lives interesting and cool. I guess they're conservative and afraid because they're used to traditional GMs where a wrong choice could lead to a character's death (where 'wrong' means 'wrong in the head of the GM, not objectively, thus leading to misinterpretation and stuff). Maybe some more metagaming would help. "look i'm not going to hurt your character, the maelstrom only gives insight"? Just giving some suggestions, mind you.

I really like it. It's quite different from your other drawings, yet familiar. Too bad you only have time for doodles, when your creativity flows so well when being free to choose the content of which you draw. I like your background texture as well. Never dissapoints.
