It's only a matter of rekindling the creativity that the school system worked to smother, and therefore not being afraid of making mistakes. School makes us dread mistakes, we get bad marks for those, so we grow cautious and conservative, never taking a step unless we're sure of success. But that doesn't work with art. You must be willing to make mistakes. That's a prerequisite of creativity and that's what schools kill.
You know, now that you mention it, I think I could come to like Red Sonja if she wasn't the vulgar eyecandy character I find she is. I mean, most artists never bother to draw the slightest hint of muscles on her, she's a doll body most of the times, and her costume... well, I think our culture has evolved past chainmail bikini. Ask any woman, they'll all find it's the usual male hormone titillating thing. Shulkie on the other hand sports a one piece costume, which is sexy without being uselessly skimpy. I think she's much more feminine than female doll also thanks to that. I don't mean to offend your tastes, but I couldn't resist voicing my opinion. If it offends you, please disregard it if you can.
Haha no not at all. My tastes are my own and i dont mind them questioned^^
I do agree tho. I dislike Sonja when she is just a big boobed lady with a sword and no clothes. But when she is in the right hands and turned into something that is just so powerful character wise i cant resist her.
Well yes, much depends on writer and possibly even more on the artist. I might just have had bad luck with the stories I read. The only one I liked was with the ice witch. It was also well drawn. All the rest was quite awful though...
True, too few of them and I wonder why the hell. But I guess that's one of the many reasons why the most bestselling marvel comic issue sells in the entire world less than the average italian comic sells in Italy. And I'm not even considering France that has a much larger comic culture than Italy...
oh, I've seen the skinny girl Shulkie, there's even an Italian artist who did it. I can only say bleh.
