Trying to push my limits, get out of my comfort zone by working on compositions, poses and backgrounds more than I usually do.

This time I avoided my habit of trying to finish a picture in one evening, and painstakingly worked on details, as much as I could, in order to be 100% satisfied with the result. Oh and yeah, the sniper rifle comes from here:

Hope you like it. Critique is welcome, of course.

EDIT: some changes to make the pic more realistic, mainly the character's face and some details of buildings and lighting.

some critique: the fading of the buildings in the background is lacking which makes the picture a bit flat, also the shadows are not right considering the recent lighting.
what I like: the textures and the character, she looks pretty cartoony but still good

I agree that her backside needs to be a bit larger (there's barely enough room there for a pair of hips!), but the image itself is fantastic. Nice emotional affect. The quote comes from the end of Fallout: New Vegas, but I don't get a Fallout feel for this image. Excellent work!!

Not from New Vegas, but from just any Fallout game, as Ron Pearlman's quote is the series' leitmotiv. But I find it pertaining anyways

Heh, the anatomy is kinda messed up, but I've been working on it more in subsequent artwork

This one falls under the "rather old" cathegory, one of my first attempts at putting a meaningful background

I've been watching you on deviant for a few years and I love what you've done with this image if I were to suggest one thing though it would be maybe a dusty overlay or something so that the foreground seems more connected to the wastelands background.

This is a serious improvement in your background integration. Well done

The *only* thing I might nit pick is her left foot; it still has a bit of a floating feel to it. The shadow directly under the ball of her foot should be a little deeper with the light level you've got, with maybe some darkness right around the edges of it.
